Health Care
The
Holland area is a healthy place to live, thanks in good measure to
the area's modern medical facilities, and its network of caring
health care professionals.
Holland Hospital has served the community since 1917. The
205-bed, private non-profit hospital offers a full range of
inpatient services including surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics,
cardiology, intensive care, behavioral health, and 24-hour
emergency care. Outpatient services include a walk-in urgent
care clinic, pain clinic, ortho/rehabilitation, sleep disorders
lab, mammography center, and home care program, as well as
community health ministry and school nursing programs.
Zeeland Community Hospital, an affiliate of the Grand Rapids-based
Spectrum Health, is a 57-bed health care facility providing a
range of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery,
pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency and intensive care.
The Holland and Zeeland community hospitals, in collaboration with
North Ottawa and Spectrum Health hospitals, operate the Lakeshore
Area Radiation Oncology
Center in
Holland, which provides treatment and support services for cancer
patients.
Holland area residents also receive medical care from numerous
physicians, chiropractors, dentists, and mental health
professionals working in private practices. Nursing homes in
Allegan and Ottawa counties provide more than 1,500 beds for those
needing long term care. |
