Mission Statement
The mission of the Holland
Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is to provide support for the
educational, cultural, civic and scientific undertakings in the
Holland area through the support of projects of the Holland Area
Chamber of Commerce and other business related endeavors.
The Chamber Foundation selects and supports projects that:
- Promote and enhance leadership,
individual involvement, and community development.
- Promote economic growth and area
employment opportunities.
- Provide for advancement and
understanding of economic principles and career alternatives.
General Information
The Holland Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is considered to
be a public charity as determined by section 501 (c) (3) of the
Internal Revenue Service Code. Therefore, the Foundation is
eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Holland Area Chamber of
Commerce are automatically appointed members of the Foundation
Board. A Foundation Committee is appointed each year to review
funding requests and make recommendations to the full Foundation
Board. The Foundation Board will consider grant requests in
January and July of each year.
There are two types of contributions to the Foundation: Restricted
and Unrestricted. Restricted funds, such as scholarship
contributions to Leadership Holland, will be disbursed in
accordance with the intent of the contributor. Unrestricted funds
will be used at the discretion of the Foundation Board.
A special fund within the Chamber Foundation is the Lou Hallacy
Fund, which was established with contributions given when Louis
Hallacy, II, CCE retired after a 20 year career with the Chamber.
Grant recipients will be informed if their project is funded by
the Lou Hallacy Fund.
Unrestricted Foundation Funds will be valued on October 1st each
year. The Foundation Committee will recommend to the Foundation
Board the maximum disbursement amount for the fiscal year at that
time.
Grant Guidelines
In order to utilize its resources wisely, the Holland Chamber
Foundation has established the following guidelines:

Board of
Directors.
- Geographically, grants are
limited to benefit the greater Holland area.
- The Foundation does not make
grants for capital items.
